This annual event is conducted in partnership with UC Berkeley under the auspices of the Nuclear Science and Security Consortium. Our effort is aimed to recruit and train students in relevant nuclear disciplines in preparation for research and leadership roles in government, policy, industry, and academia. We aim to draw students and scholars together in unconventional ways, replacing the boundaries that separate disciplines with a more inclusive science-technology policy interface.
Our first intensive, two-week introduction to policy foundations and drivers in the nuclear area in 2018 drew a wide variety of graduate students (some with Masters’ degrees, some PhD students), post-docs, and young professionals.
The Nuclear Security Policy Boot Camp is a great opportunity for students to network with nuclear policy professionals, visit Capitol Hill and Administration agencies, receive policy communication training, and connect with like-minded students. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2019. I have attached a brochure about the Boot Camp. Please visit the Boot Camp website for more information and to direct your students to apply. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to my assistant, Samantha D’Introno. She can be reached at sdintrono@gwu.edu or by phone at 202-994-7292.
