DOE NNSA to Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of Science-based SSP

On Wednesday, October 21, from 8:00 to 11:45 AM EST, at a Washington, D.C. event, the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the science-based Stockpile Stewardship Program (SSP) that makes it possible for the United States to maintain a safe, secure, and effective nuclear weapons stockpile without nuclear explosive testing.  This year (2015) marks the 20th anniversary of President Bill Clinton’s announcement that the United States would maintain the U.S. nuclear arsenal without nuclear explosive testing.
